Biology 101, for students studying in grades 8-10. Starting February 11, 2013 from 10:00-1:00. Space is limited to 8 students.
This semester-long class covers the basics of Biology, the study of Life. Biology 101 students will:
- Look at nature of science and the diversity of life itself
- Explore life in its entirety, from the smallest building blocks of
life (the cell and its chemical components) to plant and animal form and
function, to how life interacts on a global scale
- Delve into genetics and DNA, natural selection and evolution, and
more explicit foci on organ systems (digestive, respiratory, etc.) in
humans
- Take a look at animal behavior, and the interactions of organisms with their environment
